There are two RV parks to stay at - Anchor Cove and Battleship Row. Anchor Cove is a bit tight (roads and turns) and not the best for bigger rigs. Battleship Row has a lot more space for bigger rigs to get in and out and turn through the roads.
We stayed in Battleship Row, and were lucky enough to get a waterfront site. You can make reservations, but not reserve a site. After you check in, you drive to the park (a ways away from the main gate) and find an open site. You can either drive around and look yourself, or go to the camp host and have him tell you what's open and show you the best way to get there. Be careful, just because a space is empty does not mean it's not taken. People are allowed to check in that morning (with their RV in storage at the park) and then come back later to put their rig in the spot. So, some empty spots have placard cards in the reservation holder, and are not actually available (this is why it's best to check with camp host first).
The sites are huge concrete pads, with plenty of room for your rig and patio setup. The water front sites have lots of space between them, and are the most ideal. You can only stay 30 days in a waterfront site, so people move in and out often. There are two laundry rooms and shower/bath houses. There is no wifi!!! Lots of walking trails, open areas, playground, disc golf courses, mini gold, boat rentals, paintball, private beach, fishing, on and on and on!
The park is not on base. It does have a check in gate, but is not closed or locked at anytime. Pensacola NAS is just a couple miles away. The Blue Angels Museum is super cool to see, and close by. There are plenty of stores, restaurants, etc all within a couple miles.
You can have all types of mail delivers to the gate. They ice and some snacks at the marina. They have propane at the marina (on limited days). Hookups are of good quality. Plenty of trails for dog walking, but they are not allowed on the beach. Park is super clean and well kept. Squirrels and deer around. Laundry facilities are low cost and very clean. Vending machine with sodas and laundry products.

DOD ID Card holder only. Technically part of the Naval base. Great full hook up site. Mostly back in sites but plenty of pull through sites too. Stayed 6 nights during the 4th of July weekend. You make a reservation and then sites are first come first serve once you arrive. About 7 miles from town. There’s a boat launch and a beach at the park. Area beach’s are also close! Since it is technically a part of base all the base rules apply. No cell phone use, if you get pulled over for drinking and driving its reported to base! Also no fireworks! Over all a great place and a great alternative to the local public RV parks.

There are two campgrounds in this park. Battleship Row is great with full hookups, paved roads, concrete pads for your RV and up-to-date facilities.
The other campground is Anchor Cove. It has dirt roads, dirt pads, facilities similar to Army field latrines and only water and electric hookups.
Those fortunate enough to get reservations in Battleship Row tend to think this is a great campground. Those stuck in the park’s stepchild Anchor Cove focus on the wall-to-wall dirt and the third rate facilities when forming their opinions about this campground.
We were in Anchor Cove. This campground has enormous potential for improvement. We will wait until a site opens in Battleship Row before camping here again.

The good: Sites on Battleship Row were decent. Plenty of room between the sites; electric, water and sewer hookups were in good shape.
The bad: BARA is in the middle of nowhere. The ugly: This was our first time in Pensacola, and the area seemed like an impoverished dump. Sure…if you’re within two blocks of the water, it’s great. Otherwise, we’ll never visit this place again.

DOD/Military Only! Great little escape in the Pensacola Area. Battleship row is full hook ups with level concrete pads. Our site had great shade and privacy with native plants and trees around it. Would stay again!

We love camping. We love the atmosphere of Anchor Cove.
It feels more like camping. But then again we go off grid alot of the time.
Staff is always friendly.

{Date of Stay: 03/27-29/2023} Would have stayed longer but watching the weather; having to get to Washington State by end of April. This is a nice military RV Park that is not on the main base, so it is relatively quiet. The park sits on an old Seaplane base but the sites are not on the old concrete tarmac & launch ramp. Good fishing area but not the best beach to swimming - waterway is Pedido Bay not the Gulf. Best to go to P-Beach (public) or the ones on-base.
