“Where the dinosaurs and apostles play”
The state-of-the-art 70,000 square foot museum brings the pages of the Bible to life, casting its characters and animals in dynamic form and placing them in familiar settings. Adam and Eve live in the Garden of Eden. Children play and dinosaurs roam near Eden’s Rivers. The serpent coils cunningly in the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Majestic murals, great masterpieces brimming with pulsating colors and details, provide a backdrop for many of the settings.
A most entertaining time for believers and non believers alike. Without getting too into personal politics the exhibits are....interesting and certainly something to see. If you're looking at this though you probably already know all about this place.
Very well done, great exhibits, and respectful of other viewpoints. Our family included this museum on a trip to Cincinnati, and it was worth it.
I've been here twice and will be returning again this Summer.
The museum is done very well. It's refreshing to see Christians not apologizing for the biblical narrative. This museum does an excellent job of demonstrating how the total biblical account of history and the sum of empirical evidence can be harmonized without damage to either.
For the non-Christian who has only ever seen natural history from the perspective of Darwin - the Creation Museum will likely be a strange experience - though it is certainly not a 'weird place'. Your beliefs will be challenged, but you can go in knowing that the staff is very friendly and non-imposing. People are free to navigate the museum at their leisure. It is a professional atmosphere.
Things I recommend: Aside from the general tour and the planetarium (a cool experience), it is worth eating at the cafeteria (the food is great). Also, make sure to stroll through the gardens and visit the petting zoo: They have a zeedonk [zebra-donkey], a zorse [zebra-horse] and some other really cool animals.
My favorite museum by far! A must visit!
Disclaimer: I believe the information in this museum to be false. Although it claims to be scientific, the fundamental assumption of science is to piece together evidence to discover truth. Creationism does the opposite. It STARTS with the belief that Creationism is true, and then looks for evidence to confirm that theory. That is backwards because the scientific method requires building theory from empirical evidence FIRST. So, I recommend viewing this museum with that in mind. And you might want to have good conversations with your children about how to think through evidence and why it might conflict with some of the theories they are learning in their science courses in school, which are the generally accepted theories in the scientific community.
This is a very well-done museum and it is great especially for those interested in the creationism vs. science (broadly) debate or the creationism vs. evolution debate. I was shocked by the price ($25 when I went, I think). But, intellectual presentation of ideas can be expensive if you do it well. So, just be prepared for that. I enjoyed looking through the exhibits.
I rated 3 because most the information is repeated at the ark encounter and I found that to be a much better experience. The creation museum walk is a little claustrophobic and not much room to spread out and explore. The info is great for faith building but with the size of the building I think the layout could be better done to be more open. I might be a little biased since I had 3 kids under 5 with me. The grounds are beautiful and I enjoyed the gardens.
An honest look at the science f where the world began. Many exhibits with Disney style animation with easy to understand information, but not simplistic. Good, strong information for people who are wiling o examine facts and not presuppose what they have been told.
Very refreshing to hear this viewpoint expressed in a confident, clear and fun way.
