Reflective of the big-personality commander-in-chief, chef Brad Spence, Amis is equal parts playful and pensive. There are meatballs made from swordfish. The hand-rolled pastas, a Vetri hallmark, are worth coming back for. The tiramisu, which is often available even if it’s not printed on the menu, is possibly the best version of the ubiquitous dessert that you’ve ever had.
