Laurel is a modern French and American influenced BYOB restaurant located in South Philadelphia on East Passyunk Avenue. Laurel BYOB offers an intimate dining experience in a comfortable 24-seat dining room where Owner Chef Nicholas Elmi prepares refined, seasonal and local fare with a focus on sustainability and simplicity. A 2013 Philadelphia Rising Star Chef and Bravo's Top Chef Season 11 Winner, Chef Nicholas Elmi has worked at some of the top rated French restaurants on the east coast, if not the world, including Guy Savoy (Paris), Le Bec Fin, Union Pacific, Oceana and Lutece. Chef Elmi has built a solid French repertoire that is constantly updated with influences from his travels as well as his upbringing in New England. Fans might have expected a different restaurant from Francophile chef Nick Elmi after his big win on Top Chef season 11. His diminutive atelier, a BYOB, holds only ten tables where diners enjoy his technique-heavy dishes in a hushed, heavily upholstered atmosphere.
