“Let out a yee-haw as you take Dolly Wood by storm”
Dollywood is a theme park owned by entertainer Dolly Parton and Herschend Family Entertainment. It is located in the Knoxville-Smoky Mountains metroplex in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Fun, friendly people, family oriented, clean fun. Rode the 'Wild Eagle' coaster and was really impressed! (I love coasters!) And hardly any lines for that; only waited for 3 groups before getting on! Went on a Wednesday and rode @2p! Only downer was the Dolly Express Steam Engine was not 'open' today, but my 2 1/2 year old train lover got to see and hear it... And the classic car ride for the littlest kids was closed too! :-( We'll be back though. This was our first time, so wish the signage was better; felt lost much of the time. Preferred parking was nice: the lot (G) was almost empty up there.
My review DW. is do the after 3 pm. Then go the next day! Check out everything then go back the next morning to do everything. Our gang did the SKYZIP. GREAT!!!
We made res. 39$ for 4 lines. Get one free with purchase of 4 tickets.
Had a great time! Arrive early to avoid long lines. Once you enter gates, veer left instead of right (everyone goes to the right). Follow trail up hill to rollercoasters. We waited less than 10 minutes to ride first three coasters. As day progresses lines become longer. We also took advantage of a musical inside with air conditioning mid day to help deal with heat. We would definately come back!!
My family and I had a blast spending the day at Dollywood! It has the charm of a miniature disney world and the thrills of six flags. My favorite part was the amount of water rides considering it was hot all day! The people working there and visiting from the area all seem so nice compared to Chicagoland! Definitely worth a day trip... Or two.
Never been to a theme park that was so clean and easy to navigate. The rides and shows were top-notch. The staff was truly friendly and accommodating. Restrooms, drinking fountains, designated smoking areas and first aid stations all over the place. Food and drink just as expensive as you'd expect at a theme park.
Great roller coasters, good (if expensive) food, wonderful Dolly museum, fun shows, captivating Craftman's Valley, and beautiful lights during the holiday season. From the many times I have been there, the people are always friendly and helpful, the park isn't too overcrowded, and there really is something for everyone in the park. Dollywood is a winner.
Why is Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO not on the map for best amusement parks? After all..Dollywood WAS Silver Dollar City before she bought it from the Hershends. Silver Dollar is the original AND it has Marvel Cave. This was Marvel Cave park before they decided to make it into an amusement park as seen in The Beverly Hillbillies. The Hershends own it as this was their baby. It is huge and booming. Rated an actual top park.
October 2017 Wonderful place for young and old.. Really good Christian shows - don't miss them. We love the bumper cars and popcorn! You can not do and see everything in three days. Get a season pass and if you can stay to see or make other trips. The shows change with the season and it is really pretty.
