Plymouth Rock

The plymouth rock is hands down beautiful. Ya'know my wife passed around a year ago..miss her every day but when i saw this god damn rock it was like seein heaven on earth. Right there I saw me beautiful wife.Right there on the rock. I was in tears. I may be a lil biased but this rock is my one and only..I am in love with the plymouth rock.

Honestly I was in a bout of depression. I wasn't sure if I wanted to live any longer. But then.... I laid my eyes on it, that beautiful symbol of hope and American spirit. So thank you Plymouth, and all the joy you've given me.

Rock may be original...sure does not look as though it is...the carving sure is not!

Say what you want about it's authenticity, visiting Plymouth Rock as a kid was awe inspiring for me, and probably sparked my interest in American history, as white-washed as it is in some places. Seeing it for the first time made me think about what it must have been like to leave your home, and come to a foreign shore not knowing what you'd find there. For some it was getting away from persecution or a very bad economic situation. For others it was to seek their fortune, in a place that was new and different.

This is why it's important to make your own pilgrimage to see The Rock. If you're American, your ancestors came here for the same reasons as these people. Remember that as you look at this boulder with 1620 carved into it.

Well it’s a rock, and it’s easy to locate, and sits in a nice monument, the rock it’s self is underwhelming. We expected it to be bigger.

This is historically important landmark but it is not the main sight in Plymouth. Don’t make this the object of your visit to Plymouth instead go to Plymouth Patuxet.

Even though it's probably not "real", we still enjoyed seeing this important part of American history.

Well, the rock was a must see. Even though my husband thought it was lame. He had been here years ago. It was in a cool monument and the waves were splashing over it. If you are near Plymouth you should definitely check it out. The town of Plymouth is so sweet, too! I wish I had more time to hang out there.

The rock is underwhelming, but visiting the town and other attractions make up for it

Well.... it's a rock. But it's a very important rock! It was an important, literal stepping stone that the members of the mayflower used. Underwhelming. Take a picture and keep moving.
