“68 degrees year round!”
This beautiful spring is named for Juan Ponce de León, who led the first Spanish expedition to Florida in 1513-as legend has it-in search of the "fountain of youth." Visitors might well regain their youth by taking a dip in the cool, clear waters of Ponce de Leon Springs where the water temperature remains a constant 68 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. The main spring is a convergence of two underground water flows, and produces 14 million gallons of water daily. Visitors can take a leisurely walk along two self-guided nature trails through a lush, hardwood forest and learn about the local ecology and wildlife. Rangers also conduct seasonal guided walks. Picnicking is a popular activity at the park; grills and pavilions are available. Anglers will enjoy fishing for catfish, largemouth bass, chain pickerel, and panfish.
BEAUTIFUL! Costs 4 dollars a vehicle and dont forget the bug spray!
Beautiful spot for a picnic or just to stretch your legs on a road trip....the scenery was amazing! The swimming area was closed due to recent heavy rains but the park itself was lovely. It is a small park but there are plenty of tables and grills and pavilions in the shade in addition to the spring fed swimming area.
Very pretty Springs. Pulled off on a cross country trip. Only 2 miles off the interstate so no time lost! Worth the pit stop.
Small - but a great spot for children to play in that water!
Smaller than I thought it would be, and there was a summer school group there so it made it seem very hectic. 68 degrees year round, and boy does it feel freezing on a 90 degree day! You get used to the temperature, though. There are quite a few picnic tables and grills for use, and the bathrooms are nice. It was a great trip, and I plan on going back!
We enjoyed a quick stop here! Workers were super helpful and friendly too.
Great the water is beautiful, but there definitely were people if your worried about Covid it might have a tad to many people (and we visited on a Sunday).
Beautiful Springs! Grills and covered picnic areas available. Water is very clear and cold. Perfect for a hot summer day!! Clean bathrooms.
Gorgeous! I highly suggest taking a bathing suit and stopping here. The spring is set up like a pool and has stairs. This park also has several picnic tables, a volleyball court, and walking trails. The entrance fee last week was $4 per car.
BEAUTIFUL! Costs 4 dollars a vehicle and dont forget the bug spray!
