It is the mission of the Museum of the Gulf Coast to collect, preserve, display and interpret the history of the coastal region between Houston and New Orleans. Exhibits interpret the history, natural history, art and popular culture of the Gulf Coast. Highlights include the largest indoor mural in the Southwest depicting the history of the region from prehistory to the discovery of oil at Spindletop, Music and Sports Halls of Fame, the John and Grace Snell Gallery of Decorative Art, the Robert Rauschenberg Gallery and much more.
