“Farm to Cone Icecream”
We're Salt & Straw, Portland's farm-to-cone ice cream shop. Our ice cream is handmade in small-batches using only all-natural dairy with the best local, sustainable and organic ingredients Oregon has to offer, as well as imported flavors from small,handpicked farms and producers around the world. We start with fresh, local, all-natural cream from family owned farms in the Willamette Valley. Our ice cream is made with 17% butterfat, very little air in the churn process, and a low sweetness level...so the flavors can really shine through.
Even when it snows, there is a line out the door at Salt & Straw. Expect this and you will enjoy your time window shopping at Screaming Sky Gallery next door, and then perusing the monthly changing ice cream menu. Always topical and creative, these high butterfat flavors are sure to impress you. They are so rich, a little goes a long way! Antler Gallery curates the art on the walls, and the ice cream is also available in pints to go.
Incredible! The best ice cream I have ever had in an adorable little shop with a very friendly staff. In addition to their usual menu, which has tons of funky flavors, (the olive oil is to die for), there is a seasonal menu. The staff lets you taste as many flavors as you like to make sure you pick the best. The shop uses local ingredients and sells their ice cream by the scoop or by the pint to go. The only down side is that they dont sell their ice cream everywhere. 5 stars for sure!
