“Portland's farm-to-cone ice cream shop”
We're Salt & Straw, Portland's farm-to-cone ice cream shop. Our ice cream is handmade in small-batches using only all-naturaldairy with the best local, sustainable and organic ingredients Oregon has to offer, as well as imported flavors from small, handpicked farms and producers around the world. We start with fresh, local, all-natural cream from family owned farms in the Willamette Valley. Our ice cream is made with 17% butterfat, very little air in the churn process, and a low sweetness level...so the flavors can really shine through! The “farm-to-cone” vision of Salt & Straw spotlights fresh, local ingredients in handmade ice cream. To call cousins Kim and Tyler Malek’s flavors “inventive” would be an understatement–from sea salt ice cream with a caramel ribbon and cinnamon snickeroodle to pear with blue cheese, amber malted plums and strawberry balsamic with cracked pepper, these are out-of-this-world ice creams you’ve never had before and won’t soon forget. The wildly popular Portland ice cream shop’s third location opened in July 2013 on southeast’s foodie haven, Division Street.
