“Picnic-inspired dining”
In 2011, Aaron & Jessica Grimmer opened their first venture, The Picnic House, in the heart of downtown Portland, OR. Located at the crossroads of Portland's Business and Art District and directly across the street from the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, the Picnic House is located in the lobby of the original 1920's Heathman Hotel and has retained the original 30-foot vaulted ceilings and fluted wood column. The culinary team utilizes classic French techniques to prepare creative dishes that playfully reference the nostalgic comfort foods of childhood. Picnic House offers a comprehensive New World/Old World wine selection, local microbrews on draught, and a seasonal craft cocktail menu.Reservations are recommended via Open Table (see reservation widget below), and we frequently host both private and semi-private events, ranging from weddings to holiday office parties.
