Centrally located just 16 miles east of Bend and Redmond, Oregon is the new Brasada Canyons 18-hole championship golf course. The private golf course has a 7,300-yard layout, is a par 72 and was designed by PGA touring professionals Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy. The course architects studied the land and capitalized on the topography and natural amenities by utilizing native vegetation, canyons, ridges and plateaus of the high desert location in their design for a challenging venue, with opportunities for rewards. Each hole has five teeing areas, and numerous white silica sand bunkers, providing the low and high handicappers a variety of playing options. Situated at about 3,500 feet, with elevation drops of 225 feet on each side, the views across the valley floor to the mountains of the Cascade Range to the west are spectacular. The course partially opened in 2006 and will be fully playable in the summer of 2007, along with a private member clubhouse, pro shop and practice facilities.
The course, weather permitting, is open year-round. The Brasada Club is a premier, non-equity, private club whose members are owners at Brasada Ranch, a Jeld-Wen Community. The 1,800-acre resort, 900-home destination community is being developed on the slopes of the Powell Buttes east of Bend and Redmond, Oregon. Brasada Canyons is a private, member and guest only golf course. There are limited tee times available to guests renting through the Brasada Ranch Lodging Program.
