This campground is located about 5 miles outside of Prescott, AZ. The road in the campground is paved and can be tight for some big MH's to maneuver, but I saw many Class A's having no problems. Most unhitched before driving around the campground to a site. Probably the key is just take it slow.

Many of the the sites are spacious and most are paved, I especially recommend site #1-4. There are a few double space sites ($36 night). As far as the sites themselves, the majority will fit a trailer 28 feet. There are a few single sites that will fit a big Beast or another option would be to take a double space. I saw a few campers with Class A's taking that option. There is drinking water but I filled up my FW tank before arriving. Bathrooms (toilet only) available. For me, I liked the hiking trails that can be accessed from the campground. You can also drive a short distance within the park to access other trails. The drawback for some people is that there is no cell service at the campground, if you drive a little ways from the campground you can get Verizon 3-4G service.

NOTE: Sign at Park advised that they all campsites will be reservable as of January 2016.

First off, Harvey, the camp host is one of the best. We pulled up to his spot to inquire about unreserved spaces. He asked us about our preferences and found us the perfect spot. He really knows this campground like the back of his hand and is happy to help. He also keeps this campground in VERY good shape. Our spot had a a very large area with level tent area, picnic bench and a really great fire ring. We were very comfortable here. (My cell report below is boosted. Without booster there is little to no reception. With boost, my wife was streaming video on her iPad)

As mentioned before Harvey the camp host was great, kept the area and bathrooms clean. I did not see any trash at all on our dog walking. Nice trail to granite Basin lake and site 12 was very secluded, only problem was a pine tree dripping sap which of course the dog got into.

Clean, relatively secluded campsites with a great view of Granite Mountain. The camp steward, Harvey, is the reason sites are so clean. He takes great pride in keeping the park in tip-top shape. Only 5 miles from Prescott, and there is always something going on in the historic area. Just up the road from Granite Basin lake. Lots of trails for all levels. Highly recommended.

I wasn't expecting the place to be busy in the middle of November with a forecasted low of 30 degrees, but I snagged the last open spot at 3pm. A group of a dozen kids in the double spot next door was making a lot of noise right up until quiet hours, 10pm. $18 is a bit steep for a parking spot with pit toilets. No hookups, no showers, no garbage, and water was limited to camp use (e.g. not supposed to fill up a tank). And cell service was in and out on AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. One big plus is all of the great trails that are accessible right from the campground. I rode around for 1.5 hours on very easy trails, Balancing Rock, West Lake, Surprise Spring.

Beautiful area and cold in December (low was 28 on our stay) so we didn't make reservations and were the only campers in the entire site (mid-week visit).

Sites are super clean and we easily fit our 24' class C through the campground and into a site. No hookups except there did appear to be one electrical hookup in the site 9 that was next to the camp host. Didn't check to see if actually works.

Many (all??) sites have a full level tent area which would be great for tent campers. Sites 1-4 did seem more remote and had some views. Sites are not fully level so bring a few levelling boards (nothing severe though).

Both ATT and Verizon we were working OK, not great, but OK. Every now and then would experience a drop for a few minutes (probably weather dependent). Was more than enough to check emails and lightweight web surfing. When the connection was good could do 10Mbps+. We had a booster but didn't bother using it. Google-fi phone (tmobile/sprint) had limited 3G service (could make a call but no data).

This is your perfect campground if you enjoy the constant noise of your neighbor's generators. There are no restrictions or limits on generator use from 6am to 10pm. Our neighbors ran it all day and all evening long, even when they left the campground.
Additionally, the hosts here currently (Sep/Oct 2020) don't seem to be able to manage the campground bookings and are hard to find even during on duty times. People are squatting in reserved spots causing anger for those holding the reservations who arrive to find others camping in the spot that they have reserved and paid for. The squatters stay out of the park all day and return late at night. The hosts have been unsuccessful in getting two separate camping groups out of three spots that others have reserved. The hosts have called "someone" but there is no answer and the squatters continue to create problems at this campground. There's a lot of drama, horns honking, angry campers and confused people looking for answers around here...and don't forget the constantly running generators, too! I highly recommend you stay away from this campground if you're looking for peace and quiet.

Apart from all this the sites are lovely and offer quite a bit of privacy. They are all back in sites from a narrow road. We have a 40ft Class A and we were tight in site 19 with our slides on both sides and very little space at the rear of our spot where the picnic table is located. Site 19 has full sun to power our solar. The pad slopes a bit to the front passenger side for a rig our size. Site 16 may have been a better fit for us but perhaps a bit less level also I think it's a first come first served spot and not reservable in advance. There is no dump or water fill for the RV so plan to do that in Prescott. We did several nice hikes right from the campground.

For as tiny as the campground is (narrow roads and tight turns, only 21 sites), the campsites are quite spacious. The sites are spread out and very private as there are plenty of trees and shrubbery to distance yourself from your neighbors. Other than the rooster crowing (also charming, to be honest) at a house not too far away, the campground was quiet and calm. The sites are each unique. Some have huge boulders you can climb and explore and also serve as privacy walls. Some sites have tiered "living spaces" that are separate from your driveway. Each site has a level and smooth tent pad, fire ring with grill, and concrete picnic table.

The campground is very well maintained and seems to stay full. Restrooms are composting toilets, separate for men and women. Roads and campsite driveways are paved. There are water spigots by the restrooms, but you are not to fill your water tank there. No dump station either, but Affinity RV in Prescott has potable water and offers their dump station for free. Convenient to stop there on the way to the campground and then again on your way out of town.

The surrounding area is filled with fast, flowy, and fun mountain biking and hiking trails. There is also a lake about two miles past the campground where people were swimming along the "beach" and also doing some fishing. The town of Prescott is about 20 minutes away.

No cell service with T-Mobile.

We came here when our first choice, White Spar was full. This campground ended up being the better choice. Everything is super clean, there are even hiking trails! The rate is due to our ATB pass. Otherwise it's 18. Cell on Verizon and Mobile was minimal, but with our booster we were able to stream videos on YouTube.

Beautiful spot, but we arrived to our reserved site and were surprised to see tents already set up.

The hosts were not aware of it and said that they get a lot of squatters and told us they couldn’t do anything about it. They did make sure to tell us about the time a squatter pulled a knife on a cop in the campground however. I couldn’t tell if anything they said was reliable, but it wasn’t worth risking an issue with my family in tow. We waited for an hour for the squatters to show up to no avail and decided to leave to avoid a possible confrontation late at night.

This whole thing could have been avoided had the hosts done their job to monitor the campground.

We were not able to get a refund. We were lucky to find a spot to dry camp an hour away. Bummer, beautiful spot we did not get to enjoy.
