Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on May 23, 2023My husband and I stopped for 1 night halfway through a 2000 mile trip home, I chose this because it coincided with our need to stop and sleep..the staff was very friendly, and the showers and bathrooms were as well...however if u are looking for any kind of a pretty view this isn't for you. It's basically a massive gravel lot with hook ups. If u are looking for a place close to I-80 and reasonable prices...
We'd been boondocking for days and really needed some hook ups and laundry when we found this place. Its really just a large gravel parking lot -- nothing fancy, no trees, but quiet. There aren't really any other resources around except a gas station and a grocery store.

The Low Down: Good stopover spot in Rawlins. Basically a gravel parking lot, with some permanent residents on the backside. Quiet enough from the interstate highway. Bathrooms/showers were fine.
Mojo Factor: none, everyone keeps to themselves.
The Dogs Opinion (it’s all about the dogs): There were 2 tiny, tiny fenced in areas for the dogs. At least a place to go potty. Otherwise, you can walk around the park. Not a place to spend more than 1 night! There are plenty of exits off the interstate going west of here that you can stop at and walk the dogs on quiet dirt roads.
What’s nearby? There are a few restaurants in town. Gas at the Walmart was the cheapest on the east side of town.
TV? I paid $2 for the cable and it was good
Cell phone/Wi-Fi? Good Verizon signal
Parting thoughts: for what's available in this town, the park was fine. Big Rigs will be fine in this park, easy to get around.

Level gravel lots. Full hookups and strong Wifi. There was a little highway noise but we were not bothered by it.

Today was 95 degrees with no shade. Not a real problem if one used the awning. Bathrooms are clean and a large laundry facility. Full hookup and a nice place to empty tanks and obtain fresh water, along of having a great shower and clean laundry . No complaints

Needed a place to spend the night while passing through. It's really a high level gravelled area. No shade, no trees. Everything is clean, well cared for and in good repair. The staff are nice. There is wifi. Spaces are large, you don't feel hemmed in.

We ran out of time to get to our desired location, called and they had an electric only site for us. They have full hook-ups, with or without cable TV as well. Pull thru sites, and they spaced us every other one as folks came in, leaving good room between each rig. Decent wifi. Right off of I-80.
One thing to be aware of; this part of Wyoming is a giant wind tunnel, and 40 mph winds are nearly constant. They strongly advise not leaving your awning out.

We called ahead to reserve our spot since we’d be coming in late. The friendly staff took our payment over the phone and told us where to park. They also left a helpful map and instructions in an overnight box. Was an easy in with good access to hookups. Had nice, clean bathrooms and large clean private showers. Large, all-gravel campground, so not sure would stay longer than a night. Could hear a nearby train, but not so loud it disturbed our sleep. Would definitely stay again if passing through.

Western Hills is a great place to stay if you are driving through to another destination. The park is quiet and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. There is a restaurant and a convenience store just a few blocks away and easy access to I-80. There are bathrooms and showers on premises (we did not use) and free wi-fi that is pretty decent.

This campground is located just off the expressway. The campground is very clean and well l kept. There is a train track close but did not interfere with sleeping. The staff was very friendly. The campground offers a playground for the kiddos and miniature golf too! The bathrooms & showers were very very clean. The laundry facility was the best I’ve seen. There were 6 huge washers and 6 dryers and the cost was $2 /$3 to wash and .50 to dry. This campground also offers a GoodSam discount for its members (sweet). The campground is also within walking distance to a pretty decent restaurant Cappys. The food was tasty. We were only going to stay 2nights but ended up staying 7. Unfortunately we lost our precious toy poodle Marley who was 15 years old who had trouble adjusting to the elevation. 🙏🏽This campground will always hold a special place for us.😢
