“From the hearth to your mouth”
Local bakery, two cafes and a drive thru. Hand crafted bread, three bean espresso, fresh eats and genuine service - find us in Redding California. Spencer Tang and his family (Wendy and their 6 girls), purchased From the Hearth Bakery in October of 2008. After much hard work, retail stores including Holiday Markets, Raley’s, Safeway, R & R Meats, Orchard Nutrition and Winco began to carry FTH sourdough. In addition to serving the Redding community, the “mobile sales” team grew to Red Bluff, Anderson, Palo Cedro and Chico. Currently, we visit approximately 400 businesses. As the sales of the hand-shaped artisan sourdough grew, the need for a viable retail store became more pressing. With the help and leadership of John Dix, the concept of From the Hearth Café was shaped. More than just a place to purchase fresh-baked breads and pastries, the Café offers great coffee drinks, espresso drinks, smoothies, omelets, hot sandwiches, paninis, fresh salads, made from scratch soups, and pasta dishes. In October of 2009 private funding for From the Hearth Café (www.fthcafe.com) was secured, and the Café was opened in April of 2010 (1292 College View Dr.) Bakery sales continued to grow with a number of local restaurants and sandwich shops using our breads to serve their customers. Clearie’s, Don’s Sandwich Shop, Fatboy’s BBQ, and Old School Restaurant are just some of our customers. The Bakery has product in over 50 retail stores and restaurants in the North State. In April of 2012, an opportunity to open a drive-thru located in downtown Redding presented itself. From The Hearth Drive-Thru Express was born and began offering our coffees, cold drinks, pastries, ready made salads and sandwiches to the downtown area. (1279 Pine St.) As of this year, the bakery has won “Best Bakery” in the Record Searchlight’s “Best of the North State” contest 3 years running. We have just opened our newest location at 2650 Churn Creek Rd. Thanks to this new location our business has double itself including its size, customers and employees. The FTH team would like to thank you all for your support that you have given to this company.
Pretty good. Good food, friendly service. Though I specified I could not have dairy on my sandwich 3 times with the girl taking the order, it ended up with cheese on it anyway, so I had to wait for my food while everyone else ate. Other than that and the slightly pricey menu, I think it was worth it. Really worth the try! Glad we stopped by :)
This was hard to find because I wasn't expecting it to be attached to a gas station! This is a panini, salad, soup, and smoothie place that tasted pretty good, was quick, had good counter service, and clean bathrooms. We went to Enterprise Park afterward before continuing our road trip to San Francisco.
Nice place. Organic fair trade coffee. Many
breakfast and lunch options.
