I wanted to love Fort Boonesborough but it fell short. The staff was not very friendly or interactive.

A typical Kentucky state park campground for hookups. You MUST have electric cable extension and you must have extra water hose. Hookups are between every other camp site. The hookups are separate but are in a shared location which can be as much as 40' from a site pad and of course every other camp site has hookups on the curb side which means you must run utilities under the RV. Grounds are well kept, there was quite a bit of road noise from the adjoining highway. Good security as we saw a park ranger go past at least 3 times. There is a lodge and swimming pool in the park not near the campgrounds. The site pads were level but take a little time to back in because they are not angled to the road, they are 90 degrees. If the site across from yours Is empty it is best to pull head in to it and back straight across to your site. All sites are E/W with a dump station on exit. Camped here in a travel trailer.

Stayed here for two nights (Sunday & Monday) following a large “yard sale” Saturday. Still, it was quiet (quiet time is 11pm.) The bathroom and shower facilities were well lit and clean. The site we parked our 30’ Winnebago was level and spacious. Water hook-up required 50’ hose. Electric hook-ups were 20/30/50A. Although we didn’t stay at one, there are several sites with sewer hook-ups. There are dump stations onsite. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only drawback was there was a water leak in the field between our site and the bath/laundry facilities, so the field was wet and soggy. It didn’t affect our stay other than an occasional odor. WiFi was available, but it was a one device only per 24 hours at $8. Will definitely stay here again.

Heading North and needed a place for the night. Limited sites available given the time of year (March). Camp Host was very friendly and helpful.

Some sites have a long run to water and the faucets are shared between two sites.

Paid $35.93 for one night (includes taxes and discounts for senior and AAA).

Would stay again. I’m sure the camp gets a lot of use in the summer, though.

The park is gorgeous but going through FEMA updates due to flooding in 2021. There is a rock quarry right next to the campground in operation 24/7. Road noise from a major highway right behind the campground. Combine both of these and no one got any sleep.
Lots of locals on the weekend which made it very, very crowded and bathrooms unusable. Hard to level in most spots.
The history of the area is what drew us to the park. We did enjoy the side trips but will stay somewhere else next trip.

This place is on one the best organized Kentucky State Park Campgrounds. The sites are clean and the entire campground is in excellent shape after last year's flood. The bathhouse are superb! The full service sites are also great, though they could use a few more of those. There arenwekend activities planned every weekend for campers April through November. The hiking trails are well located, the putt putt golf course is great! The Fort just up the road is a must see. The pool in the park just up the road is closed for season due to need repairs from the flood, I assume.

If you are looking for a fun filled, yet quiet and relaxing campground, this it is.

A must visit type of place!

Much to do here especially on weekends. Full of kids even mid week. Some sites have water near by reachable with very long hose. We used 75 feet. Expect to have to level up.

Stopped here for one night on the way south. There were only a few other campers and some full time occupants. Our electric site was fine but the campground is located next to a highway the comes down a pretty substantial hill so expect lots of noise from the trucks using their engine brakes. This might be a nice summertime stop as the Fort opens in April, they have a pool at the state park and there is a put put golf course at the campground. For a wintertime stop and considering the truck noise you be better off stopping somewhere else especially with the high cost of a campsite. We had no cell service at the campground. You can pay for wifi.

I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in the site #151, an E/W, BI site for $33/night with a senior discount. It’s a nice campground that made me think of commercial campgrounds with all their activities/events that they host throughout the year. Sites were a little closer together than most state parks but the roads were easy to navigate. #151 was a little on the short side and I had to park the truck across the front of the site. This site is totally open to the sun. Some sites have shade, but not many. The bathhouse was clean, but I didn’t use it. There are two dump stations with three slots total. I had 3 bars LTE with Verizon and lots of OTA channels. Wifi is a paid service and I was told by an employee that it was weak and unreliable so I didn’t buy it. The main road near the park is a downhill slope and trucks use their air brakes all the time. Very noisy. It was an easy drive into Lexington where there are tons of things to do. I visited several historic homes – White Hall, Ashland, and Mary Todd Lincoln home. Also visited Mill Springs Battlefield, Camp Nelson National Monument and hiking trails at Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. It was a nice campground to stay in.

Very clean and well kept campground. We stayed at site 139 which is for smaller campers which was fine for our unit. Highly suggest a long water hose. 2 sites share a 2 nozzle unit. Can’t say it’s the quietest with the adjoining highway and rock quarry nearby. Quarry operates 6 am to 6 pm. Bathrooms are extremely clean which is a plus! There is a lot of activities and areas for children to play. Staff have been very nice. I would stay again as a stop over.
