“Nationally acclaimed BBQ Restaurant”
Founder John Stage began Dinosaur Bar-B-Que with two partners as a mobile concession unit in 1983 with a 55-gallon drum cut in half. The idea was hatched at the the Harley Rendezvous, a massive motorcycle gathering near Albany, NY because they believed that bikers deserve a good plate of food. For five years the road was our home, doing motorcycle shows, fairs, and festivals throughout the Northeast. Burned out from life on the road, we settled in downtown Syracuse as a quick service lunch/dinner bar-b-que joint in 1988. In 1990 we tripled our size, adding a full bar, full service dining, and live music. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que opened its doors in Rochester, NY in 1998, Dinosaur Ba-B-Que Harlem followed in 2004 and we just opened our fourth location in Troy, NY on November 10th, 2010.
A famous food joint for Rochestarians - and for good reason too! This biker bar joint serves some of the best barbecue I've had the pleasure of consuming. I don't think there is a bad thing on the menu, but I particularly enjoy the ribs and fried green tomatoes - come hungry and early - the line on weekends can keep you waiting for hours!
This place lived up to all the hype! Split a 3 way combo with some sides. Perfect to get a good sampling of their famous BBQ. Sauces were great, not super hot but very flavorful.
Good for kids and a relaxing stop for the adults. It's a big space so we didn't have to wait even though it was lunch time on a monday. They have kids menus and even gave our girls a sample of the mac and cheese because it's peppery. Our girls opted for sliders and applesauce. Nice service and ambience, big portions, clean bathrooms, good food.
