“venice of the north”
Pierre Vandamme's native town, Bruges is also known as 'Venice of the North' for its medieval monuments, bridges & romantic scenery. Along the streets in Bruges, local "Bruggelingen" and tourists enjoy the delicious yeast-raised waffles that are proudly made and sold by street vendors. After living in Utah for 10 years, Pierre decided to adapt a generations old family waffle recipe and started his own business in Salt Lake City, Utah, selling Liège waffles and frites at the Farmers Market in Pioneer Park. Five years later, he opened a charming restaurant at Uffens Market Place in downtown Salt Lake City.In the winter you can also enjoy the waffles in The Canyons and Alta ski resorts.
*road trip. Autocorrect is a horrible thing.
Stop here. For real. These waffles are AMAZING. Get them with fresh strawberries. Then get frites with the lemon dill mayo. So good! The employees were friendly and personable. It was a great place to stop, sit outside, and take a rest on your oral trip.
Super delicious!!
So delicious! Creme & Strawberries! Wish I could have gone back for the frites!
