“cannas of about 40 cultivars or varieties”

Sunken Garden highlights cannas of about 40 cultivars or varieties. Annuals, perennials, and bulbous materials of many kinds in season can also be found here. Depression era stone walls and unique water features make this park a true treasure. This garden and park were featured in April of 2001 on the Home and Garden cable network program “A Place to Call Home.” Extra canna “bulbs” (rhizomes, actually) harvested during Winter are given to the public from the park on the second Monday of March each year.
