“Entertainment & Nightlife in Garden Ridge, TX”

Natural Bridge Caverns is so much more than one of the most treasured natural attractions Texas has to offer. This beautiful and historical cavern system offers an experience that is high energy, educational, fun and family oriented. Whether you are a first timer, an avid caver or someone in between, Natural Bridge Caverns awaits with a once in a lifetime experience you'll never forget.  Pan for precious stones, take the ultimate leap of faith from the Canopy Challenge, go caving on one of our adventure tours or simply experience nature on the original Discovery Tour. Bring your family, your church group or your classroom. With so much to do, see and learn, once you've experienced Natural Bridge Caverns, we promise you'll be coming back for more.  In March of 1960, Orion Knox Jr., Preston Knodell, Al Brandt and Joe Cantu, four college students from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, obtained permission to explore the area that is now Natural Bridge Caverns. The students were convinced that large underground passages existed under the amazing 60-foot limestone bridge. On their fourth expedition, Orion felt a cool draft from a rubble-filled crawlway. Such air currents often indicate the presence of additional rooms or passages.  The explorers made their way carefully climbing and crawling through two miles of vast cavern passage. After making this amazing discovery, they returned to the surface to tell the landowners. The discoverers knew immediately what an astonishing find they had made and the land owners decided to develop the first 1/2 mile, the most spectacular part of the caverns, for the enjoyment of guests from around the world. That first 1/2 mile is now the Discovery Tour. Natural Bridge Caverns Discovery Tour was developed with two main goals in mind: preservation of the cavern environment and comfort of its guests. The result is one of the world premier show caverns, and one of the most popular attractions in Texas.

Nature Bridge Caverns rank among the top 20 tourist attractions in the San Antonio Area.

Well it is a rather stunning system of caverns, with some beautiful rock formations and loads of tours to choose from. It is a great place for family with kids and suitable for people of all ages.

A very negative thing about it though, is that it is overpriced. Just imagine within 4 hours we spent about $500 for a family of four (2 adults 2 young teenagers). Well we took the Discovery Tour which was worth the $60 we spent there, since we had the opportunity to stare at some extremely beautiful rock formations, then we did the Large Canopy Tour where we spent about $120 and i cannot say that we actually enjoyed this one, too expensive and too average, nothing special about it.

If you add to this our evening meal, souvenirs and some ice creams the cost reached $500. OK we are a middle class family and we can afford this, but it is a pity really for the prices being so high, because people with lower incomes cannot afford the park or at least most of its activities.

Overall it is a beautiful and very interesting place to visit, but in my opinion something must be done to lower the prices. This place is more expensive than the amazing Sea World in San Antonio. We pretty much did everything and i don't intend to return!

Take one of the guided tours offered here and learn about natural rock formations, like stalactites and stalagmites, when exploring the caverns. Push your fear of heights by climbing the obstacle course 60-feet high. Why stop there? Get your adrenaline rush by taking the zip line down!

We think a trip here is one of the best things to do when visiting nearby New Braunfels.

Lovely cavern system that is a classic tourist activity in central Texas. There's some amazing formations here, including the longest soda straws I've ever seen. It is a bit pricey and the food area is kinda typical attraction so maybe eat before you get here.

Very long "Discovery Tour". We took a 75 min. tour into the caverns. Take shorts and tennis shoes if you want to enjoy this one. Definitely a must if you've never been to San Antonio before.

It's a pretty cool place and worth the tour for sure. Watch the interwebs - they have races (5k, 10k, 1/2 Marathon, Duathlon, 1 mi + mazes) and I really suggest those - they come with 1 free cave tour and they're a lot of fun.

Otherwise - agree that some of the "extras" there are probably overpriced - but definitely do the cave tour - there aren't many caverns this sized and it's a great experience.
