We have been there two times - 2013 and 2015. The first experience (2013) was really nice. We were only 2 people and 1 guide, so lots of private time, photos and chatting. In 2015 we've been there with a larger group (7 people), I guess they were a little overworked with this situation (obviously they were short on horses and guides that day as they also had other groups). I said I can ride, and got the slowest/nicest horse, others who were total beginners got a really nervous difficult horse (probably because of weight)... I guess it must have been bad luck, but the guides weren't really able to handle the situation very well.

All in all, the beach ride is really lovely (you can see the Mexican border). However it is quite a long way to get there. So the actual time at the beach is only quite short compared to the dusty ride there. It makes sense to book a longer ride to actually experience some time at the beach.
