“preserving Victorian Architecture”

The park features several restored Victorian homes and San Diego's first synagogue, Temple Beth Israel, which were all moved to the site from their original locations. The temple now hosts weddings, receptions and bar mitzvahs. Heritage Park near San Diego State Historic Park in Old Town keeps the architectural history of San Diego alive. This 7.8-acre park is dedicated to the preservation of San Diego’s Victorian architecture. When expansion downtown after WWII threatened these structures with demolition on their original sites, public and private funds paid for the acquisition, relocation, and restoration of these buildings. Examples of San Diego’s Victorian architecture including Italianate, Stick-Eastlake, Queen Anne and Classic Revival styles may be found at this Historic Park in San Diego. Heritage Park is owned by the County of San Diego. Future plans for Heritage Park include restoration of current buildings and additional Victorian Homes to be used as San Diego Historic Inn’s and Bed & Breakfasts. Heritage Park is open daily from sunrise to sunset.

If you happen to be in Old Town and love architecture, it's worth a very short walk up the hill. Beautiful and peaceful park. Most houses are not open for viewing. Open are synagogue, a tiny room in one home with info on moving the houses to this park, and a tea room at the end of the road, closed when I was there. Dogs on leash are allowed.

Right next to Old Town and across the street from a historic Latter Day Saints church.
Not very much to see, but it's a great place for a calm walk after eating great Mexican food at Casa Reyes
