Built in 1936, the Civic Auditorium is a Spanish Mission style dual-level auditorium that hosts a variety of events including performing arts, general assembly, community and sporting events.It is managed and operated by San Jose Theaters, a division of Team San Jose.A major, multi-million dollar renovation led to a grand re-opening of the Civic in October, 2012. In December of 2013, its name officially changed to City National Civic.The Who kicked off their first headlining tour of the U.S. here in 1968.
