“great sandy beaches & an abundance of shells!”

Sanibel is one of the unique barrier islands of the world, having an east-west orientation when most islands are north-south. Hence, the island is gifted with great sandy beaches and an abundance of shells.  Throughout the year, many people come to the beaches of Sanibel to gather shells. People are often seen bending down as they look for seashells, and this posture is known as the "Sanibel Stoop." There are beaches almost all around the island. There are even beaches along the Sanibel causeway, and these are great for fishing and windsurfing. However, beach parking on Sanibel itself is very limited, and in high season finding a convenient parking space can be a challenge.

Amazing beach. I have been to my fair share of beaches over the years, and this particular one ranks right up there w/ my all time favorites! Also, it's a great place to go shell hunting!

Beautiful beach, great for family vacations, not so much for a crazy spring break.

As far as I can say, Sanibel Island is a place to bring peace to your heart and soul. Not recommended for extreme nightlife events.

The beauty is natural and there are not any buildings distracting this paradise.
There, you can build towers in the sand and imagine you are the king who owns them..no one will get in your way even though the place is crowded.

The beach is close to the car park, only a 15 minute walk (depending on how fast you walk) and the car park can get busy so have this on mind when visiting.

amazing beach! !!! so many shells!!!. we visited 3 beaches. the lighthouse beach is cute the beach was quiet when we visited water was very clear. blind pass beach had very limited parking. yOu have to watch out for rip currents. bow mans beach was nIce, too. busier with tons of parking. water wasn't as clear. I guess due to many people in the water. bring a bucket to collect shells!!!!!

Sanibel Island Beach is beautiful. If you are driving here during the busy season, you might as well stay home; it gets extremely busy. However, if you drive here during the summer, you can still expect to have some difficulty obtaining a parking spot, but it is totally worth the trouble.
