Father’s Office is the nationally acclaimed Los Angeles Gastropub by Chef Sang Yoon and home of the much touted “Office Burger”. Our focus is craft beer and its pairing with great food. We feature a seasonally rotating selection of 36 craft beers on tap along with esoteric small producer wines, micro distilled spirits* and classic cocktails. Our food is inspired by the rich bar culture of Europe as well as the freshest locally sourced ingredients. Open since 2000, Father’s Office is, for this city, an aging starlet, but in a Betty White sort of way. Yes, you’ll still wait shoulder-to-shoulder at the bustling long bar for your pint (36 taps and a super-knowledgeable staff make it worth your while); and yes, though the competition’s fierce, the Office Burger is still one of the best uses of beef in town.
The Office Burger ($12.50) launched a million imitators (for good reason). Sang Yoon's oblong creation has arugula, Maytag blue cheese, caramelized onions, bacon and Gruyère, which come together to form a sort of fancypants Captain Planet-style burger.
Sang Yoon's pioneering gastropub is still a favorite with Westside locals craving a burger and a brew. The bar food is just as elevated as the beer: Old and New World pours forgo the usual hopped-up California brews for taste-forward beers that effortlessly pair with that no substitution, no ketchup burger. The menu keeps it simple, divided into Malty, Hoppy, Yeasty/Spicy, and Fruity/Herbaceous at the Santa Monica original; Helms Bakery's Father's Office 2.0 offers 40 draft and 30 bottled beers.
