“Frozen Treats in Santa Paula!”
Santa Paula Fosters Freeze. Owned and operated by the original family that opened it in 1947. Friendly service and yummy food. Fosters Freeze has been a California tradition since the mid 1940's. The Fosters story begins in 1946 when George Foster opened the first Fosters Freeze in Inglewood, California. He introduced the soft serve cone and a line of soft serve desserts. The unique product became so popular that he opened a chain of restaurants. As California grew, so did the Fosters concept. Made-to-order hamburgers, fries and other food items were added to the menu. Fosters Freeze truly could be described as Caifornia's first fast-food chain!
You gotta try the secret menu "pork tenderloin sandwich" malts are the Best!
I've seen a few people say at other places online that this is the best Foster's Freeze anywhere in California. I haven't been to every single one but, after stopping here twice going back-and-forth through Santa Paula, this location's top-notch reputation and the nice official description from Roadtrippers are well deserved. Aside from the legendary soft-serve treats, to me, Foster's represents the TRUE California-style burger far more than the "directional" chain people lust over. This place prepares its food exactly as it should be done. I'll also add that Foster's has the best onion rings of any fast food place in the state. It's all topped off by a staff that is truly friendly. On both stops, not only were the clerks courteous to the little woman and I but also to our dogs...treats when we went through the drive-through and water when we sat outside. This place is right off the freeway and easy to get to so there's no excuse to go to any other fast food joint.
