Josh Silvers is the Chef Owner of Jackson's Bar & Oven and Petite Syrah (formerly Syrah Bistro) in Santa Rosa. He often describes Jackson's Bar & Oven as "wine country eats". Jackson's is his newest venture with a more casual style of food compared to Petite Syrah which he now describes as urban wine country dining. Jackson's opened in November, 2009 and was named after Josh's son and one of his favorite ways of cooking. This hip new restaurant is centered around a wood fired oven with cool cocktails to match some all American favorites with the unique Silvers' twist. Josh was the chef/owner of Syrah Bistro for over 12 years. Earlier this year, he decided to reinvent Syrah and created a new restaurant in the same space which he calls Petite Syrah. His excitement with Jackson’s prompted him to remodel Syrah and create a menu that follows a more modern way of dining. Petite Syrah features small to mid-sized composed plates ranging from about $5 to $16. We call it seasonal urban wine country cuisine basically it’s what is beautiful and at the Chef’s whim). Petite Syrah has continued the Syrah and Jackson’s tradition of a popular destination for locals and tourist alike. Both restaurants are located in the historic Railroad Square area of Santa Rosa. They both feature the same 'slow food' philosophy of farm to table and showcase the abundance of artisans Sonoma County is famous for.
