“offering an expansive collection of quality European & ethnic foods”
For nearly three decades, Casa Italia has widely been recognized as the premier destination for shoppers in search of quality European and ethnic foods. Casa Italia's expansive selection of hard-to-find ingredients has been greeted eagerly by food enthusiasts on the west coast of Florida. We are your one stop shop for quality extra virgin olive oils, aged balsamic and other flavored vinegars, risotto rice, artisanal pasta, fabulous European cheeses and olives, and fine wines. A vast array of spices, jams and preserves, specialty cured meats, and imported mozzarella di buffalo, are just a few more of the culinary treasures that await you here. The heart of the 3000 sq ft. store is the deli department. Here you will find an extensive range of cheeses from Italy, Spain, France, Denmark, England and Switzerland. Italian favorites include Parmigiano Reggiano, Auricchio provolone, Pecorino Romano, Gorgonzola & Fontina to name but a few. The deli also carries three types of imported prosciutto and a variety of cold cuts. Boneless, skinless salt cod "Baccala" is available throughout the year. Buffalo mozzarella imported from Italy is available, as are fresh and cherry-sized mozzarella.. There is a large selection of speciality olives. Both Raj and Nita are happy to give tastings and advise on selections to suit your palate. The grocery department contains a number of pastas, from frozen to premium brands as well as whole wheat and organic. In the freezer, there is a selection of raviolis stuffed with cheese, eggplant, mushroom or crab & lobster. To go with the pasta there is an extensive variety of sauces. Customers will also find Belgian Callebaut & fine Italian chocolates, canned vegetables, capers and caperberries, caviar, anchovies, tuna, smoked salmon and, a particular favorite, white anchovies. There is an extensive range of extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars. You will also find a 50 year old sherry vinegar from Spain as well as champagne, raspberry and red or white wine vinegars.
