Lake Scott State Park

520 W Scott Lake Dr, Scott City, Kansas 67871 USA

“Ideal setting for camping”

Rich in history, this park provides an ideal setting for camping, boating, swimming, hiking, hunting, fishing, and wildlife observation. Hunting is allowed at the adjacent public hunting area. The Steele home, the dwelling of the original settlers on the area, has been preserved much as it was 100 years ago. The park also boasts the northernmost pueblo in the U. S. - El Cuartelejo.

Nice lake and quiet camping. Lots of camping spots to choose from and cost is 11 dollars plus a 5 dollar permit fee. We arrived late at night and still found a nice shady spot. The bathrooms are a little rough with lots of bugs at night, but lighted at night. There's even a resident raccoon in the lake view campground that lives in the dumpsters.

This place is gorgeous, I loved the history and the hiking. The only downside is that there's some poison ivy around-- be careful!
