Scott County Heritage Center and Museum

Once the county's "poor farm," today it serves as the county's heritage center and museum, telling the stories of the past. Some of these stories just happen to also be a little spooky... Did you know that our Ghost Tours are available any month of the year on Friday and Saturday nights?  This is by far one of our most popular events at the museum and has attracted the attention of several professional ghost hunters from across the country.  Our most popular month for tours is of course in October, however, the ghosts roam the building all year long! Costs for the tour is $10.00 per person for a 1 1/2 hour tour. Overnight tours are available for $20.00 per person with a minimum of 10 persons attending. Our tour guides are dedicated volunteers of the museum with many years of ghost hunting between them. Tours begin with an orientation of the building and listening to several EVPs (electronic voice phenomenon) that have been recorded in the museum over the past several years.  Also, several photographs taken during tours are viewed before your tour begins. Will you see or hear a ghost?  Depends!  We can’t guarantee that you will as these tours are not staged.  A lot of people though come away with hearing or seeing something.
