“curiosities from around the world”

Come see curiosities from around the world and beyond! (but mostly from Alabama!) Started in the 1970’s as Butch’s taxidermy shop and artifact room, the Museum of Wonder is now filled with art, artifacts and antiques, and some very strange items.

The photo with this entry is misleading. The address associated with this attraction is not the address associated with the Drive-Thru Museum pictured, which by the way was wonderful, and entertaining, and imaginative. The Roadside museum is at the intersection of US Hwy 431 and Silver Run Drive, in Seale, AL. The website link on this page is for the Museum of Wonder, and I would assume that the address is correct for that location, but indicates that the museum requires an appointment for viewing, which I was not able to manage for this visit, but am looking forward to in the future based on this experience.

The GPS took me to a dead-end dirt road and an abandoned shack. Needless to say I turned around and left lol. Guess I should have read these reviews first, which say that the roadside museum is at the intersection of US Hwy 431 and Silver Run Dr.

Didn't stop because there was only a small sign that said art with an arrow and as we drove down a small driveway style road there was no art down the road. I could see where it looked like there may have been once but there was nothing. As we got close to a house at the end of the driveway we turned around. There was no sign of art and with it just me and my girls I was not going to chance going up to someone's house. The website and reviews sounded good but don't know how long ago that was. :(

It's a drive-thru art museum. Eclectic and very interesting.

Quick, free, you don’t have to get out of your car and a cool idea. Love to see it develop more. But not worth your time unless you’re passing by.

Just stop! When you see the roadside "museum" stop there, drive thru, enjoy. That is the museum of wonder. Address is wrong.
