Sequim Bay State Park is a year-round, 92-acre marine camping park with 4,909 feet of saltwater coast in the Sequim "rainshadow," just inside Puget Sound on the Olympic Peninsula. The bay is calm, the air is dry and interpretive opportunities await visitors. There are 60 sites for tents or RVs (no hookups), 16 sites with full hookups (30 amps) for RVs up to 40 feet long, three primitive tent sites, and one tent-only group site for up to 50 people (available mid-May–mid-September). Picnic tables and fire grills are provided. Restrooms with flush toilets and coin showers, drinking water, a dump station, a picnic area with kitchen shelters, an amphitheater, athletic fields, a basketball court, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, playground, and interpretive center are available. Boat docks, launching facilities, and boat mooring are also available. Some facilities are wheelchair accessible. Leashed pets are permitted.

It's a pretty park and well-maintained. The full hook-up sites are laid out RV park-style— all in a row. But they are spaced pretty generously. But they are SO close to the highway, the highway noise in really overwhelming and completely robs you of the sense that you're anywhere out in nature.
The dry camping sites are tucked a bit further back from the highway, so more quiet, though you can still hear the freeway. They're well laid out between the trees, some of them have lovely views of the bay, and many of them are quite long — long enough to hold even the largest RVs. I would have much preferred to stay in these sites, but the weather required hookups for this stay.
I don't think I'd stay here again unless it were during a time I could stay in a dry camping site.

We stayed in one of the dry camp spots in mid April. It was easy, beautiful, and close to the Seattle area. The dry campsites are close to the water, many with water views. The section of the Olympic Discovery Trail that runs through the park is relatively flat and easy for kids to bike. There are also some easy well maintained hiking trails that our kids and bulldog traversed easily. The dump station was clean and easy to use.

We arrived later on a Friday evening, short trip from Seattle. Check in was easy. We have small 13' trailer, and we were camping with family in a tent. Site 40 was large enough for this and two cars. Nice site. We were wedged between a group on each side, which made for a lot of kids and people moving back and forth thru our site, which was a disappointment, but this is not the parks fault -I wish the group had taken our site and left one on the end open.
The hosts were on site, park rangers made multiple trips around the loops every day, so it felt safe and monitored (on a weekend, less so when we were there on Monday). It is close to the highway, there was noise but not too distracting in the upper loop (unless there were emergency vehicles). Bathrooms were clean and restocked daily with toilet paper. Pay for shower with tokens.
Having the Olympic Discovery Trail made for some easy walks with a 2 year old and her grandmother. The 2.9mi trails they advertise were hard to find and in some places, washed out. Lots of shoreline to walk though, very beautiful views. Others at the campground were crabbing and getting good catches.
My preference is for campgrounds further from development, more trails. I would probably find another campground. But, if waiting til the last minute to reserve (like this time), I would come back here for a weekend.

The FHU section isn’t as pretty as the dry camping section, but we didn’t mind fewer trees between sites for full hookups. We stayed here to explore Olympic National Park and it worked out well for us as a jumping off point. The town of Sequim is unique, it’s the lavender capital of the US! There is a laundromat in Sequim and just about any box store that you could need. Verizon wasn’t great here 3.69 download, 0.12 upload when I tested it. ATT got us through the work week, 6.13 download, 15.7 upload boosted.

We were determined to stay in this park instead of in Sequim... not sure why now. We booked 27 online but didn’t fit and couldn’t level. 21’ trailer 25’total with tongue. Thank goodness slow season we were able to swap to site 29. We fit, barely, thanks to my husbands great driving skills we made it work. There is no sun for the solar to work so have ran generator more than planned. Really cute here, accessed discovery trail with our bikes to ride into town. Some hiking in park but not as much as we thought. Super clean, definitely freeway noise but quiets down in the evenings. Did not use or check out showers. Would stay here again but for shorter length of time.

I've been coming here for 10 years. The best staff I have ever experienced at a State Park. Currently the boat launch is secured for much needed reconstruction, however it would have been nice to also specify the dock was secured as well. I brought fishing poles to go fishing, but the entire road is closed, not the notice that the park gives. I camp with a big Gold-wing Motorcycle, the condition of the lower loop road should also advise motorcyclists as to the deplorable conditions of the road. During the current construction the drive routes are reversed, and camping with a fully load bike and entering sites from the reverse angel is treacherous.
That being said. After negotiating a tight parking experience. I opted to walk to the registration office to purchase firewood. As a Vet with driving disability, caring two bundles of wood was not an option. Thank you park service to staff delivering my wood to my campsite (#71) shortly afterword.
Aside from packing fishing-poles and gear I couldn't use because the entire road was secured. Have 7 Cedars Casino 1.5 miles away ensures that this is still one of the best State Camping Grounds that exist. And the proximity of John Wayne Marina is another plus. We stayed one night on a weeklong trip. The majority of the sites are closed for the winter. In the open loop, sites with services are close together and several were muddy, including ours. There were four or five other campers in the park, so it was certainly not crowded. I imagine in the summer it is quite crowded and all the tree cover would be welcomed in the summer heat. In order to have space between us and other campers, we ended up in a muddy spot. We walked down to the brand new dock and viewing area. There we watched a sea lion swimming and our dog walked in the water. I walked along the Olympic Discovery Trail in the morning. It runs through the park on its way to the coast.
Amenities include horseshoe pits, swing set, a small interpretive center and hiking. The bathrooms are heated and there is a shower that takes tokens, which are available at the Pay Station. The park is directly next to Highway 101 so road noise is present at all times. Be sure to bring cash or check as no credit cards are taken for Drop Ins.

This campsite’s fees fluctuate depending on the season- it was $20 for a drycamping spot in February. Given its proximity to Seattle and the location in the rain shadow, it’s a decent option to get away from a rainy Seattle weekend.
Pros- roomy campsites with some privacy
Clean facilities (heated bathrooms with flush toilets and sinks; showers for a fee)
Four bars of T-Mobile LTE cell signal
Cons: the view of the bay is pretty but mostly obstructed by trees
A bit on the pricier side for dry-camping
Gate gets locked when the park closes so you have limited flexibility to leave or enter the park at night
Verdict: would return to get away from the rainy Seattle weather but will probably try out my roster of free campsites around Port Angeles first
