“Personal assistance to visitors to Iowa”

Tourism information on the area and the state of Iowa; wireless Internet. Lewis & Clark's Corps of Discovery passed near the area on their expedition across the Northwest; and designers have infused the Welcome Center with imagery inspired by the expedition; including steel "birch bark" canoes that serve as benches. Relief-carved and modeled terra-cotta panels illustrating scenes and artifacts from the Lewis & Clark journales are set into the building's walls. Smaller narrative tiles around the site are reminders of the journey.
