Power Play Entertainment Center South

We went to Power Play for a family outing. We purchased the $100 credit pack and a buffet for 6 for a total of $131.76. The majority of the food looked like it had been sitting on the line for hours. The children tried a few bites and refused to eat any of it. After eating some of the chicken wings that did not seem to be up to the proper temperature, we saw one that still had feathers on it. Everyone went to the bathroom after eating and we were disgusted by the filth. Scum built up on the sinks, urine all over the floor in the stalls, feces and toilet paper on the toilets, and long hairs mixed with soap that was dripping from the dispenser onto the floor by the sink. It went from bad to worse when we started playing games. We did 2 go-kart rides the claw machine about 10 times. We paid for bowling and shoes.The equipment was faulty at best. Several times it only set up half of the pins, the computer couldn't keep up with who was bowling and made several errors. When we asked the attendant for help we were repeatedly ignored while he performed other tasks, and he turned most of the lights off in the area while we were still trying to bowl. We tried to bowl for about an hour and didn't even make it past 4 frames due to the faulty equipment and poor customer service. My husband and I ordered one drink each from the bar at the start of our game and the orange juice tasted rancid. About an hour after eating the buffet we started getting sick. Stomach cramps, nausea, light headed, and dizzy. Feeling sick and frustrated we decided to leave. We asked the manager for a refund of the credits left on our power play card. He refunded the game of bowling, shoes, and 1 drink and took the power play card with the rest of our credits we had purchased without refunding us the remaining credits. When my husband spoke to to the owner Charles (Chas) Tulipma he told us to get lost and didn't believe us that we were sick even though the girl at the front desk told us she gets sick every time she eats there as well. Awful.
Powerplay Family Entertainment Center, 13110 W. 62nd Terrace, Shawnee, had 9 priority violations during a July 13 inspection following a complaint, including dozens of dead roaches throughout the facility and 18 live roaches. The buffet service, kitchen, prep area and warewashing areas were temporarily closed due to the roach activity.

It had 2 priority violations during a July 14 re-opening inspection and was allowed to reopen.

Powerplay officials did not return phone calls.
