“on the east bank of the Big Sioux River”
Falls Overlook Cafe sits on the east bank of the Big Sioux River in Falls Park, Sioux Falls. Located in a restored 1908 hydro electric plant, the Cafe serves a variety of food and beverages and offers dining inside and outside with a view of the falls. Historic exhibits are displayed inside the building. While the park is a “must do” in the summer, it is a “must see” in the winter with the lighting of the trees for the Christmas season. The Cafe itself is decorated spectacularly for the Christmas season.
Very nice cafe with a nice variety of healthy fare.
Passing through Sioux Falls or staying a night? Please go to this cafe, perfectly situated in one of the most beautiful parks in the northern plains. The falls are breathtaking, but the food in the cafe is just as refreshing! If it's still part of the menu when you're there, please, for the love of God, order the brisket with sweet potato. It's the perfect combo of salty and sweet. So decadent, especially when paired with a local Sioux Falls brew. The name escapes me now, but it's a nice dark ale, reminiscent of Newcastle Brown. It went very well with the brisket. I included a picture of my meal in this review (half eaten-sorry, couldn't wait).
Really nice lunch. A little pricey, but good was solid, filling and all homemade. Gave 4 stars instead of five just because we paid 6.75 for a grilled Sammy and 7.95 for hot ham and cheese. The food was really yummy though.
