Open April through October, Thursdays-Mondays. $3 adults, kids12 and younger are free. The oldest attraction at the Springfield Botanical Gardens, the 7.5-acre Mizumoto Japanese Stroll garden includes a koi lake, moon bridge, meditation garden, tea house, traditional Japanese garden landscaping and a 7-ton Alaskan Jade stone. The garden is home to the Springfield Sister Cities Association's Cherry Blossom Kite Festival and Japanese Fall Festival and the Friends of the Garden's Chrysanthemum Festival.

Took our Girl Scouts here on a recent trip. We enjoyed our time at the Botanical Gardens including the butterfly house and Japanese Gardens. The Japanese Gardens has a small fee for adults but everything else was free. There is also a free tram you can use to get to different areas. The gardens were enjoyable and the staff was friendly and helpful!

The Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden is among the oldest attractions in Springfield Botanical Gardens. Built in 1985 in partnership with the Springfield Sister City, Japan, Gunma Prefecture, and Jsesaki, Mizumoto features a large koi lake, tea house, meditation garden, and moon bridge with Japanese garden landscaping.

You will find that the garden is unlike any other, with something fun and attractive in every corner, making it a good place to unwind and get some fresh air. Once you visit it, you’ll have a great time exploring the beautiful trees and flowers, ponds, streams, and gazebos.

We think a visit here is one of the best things to do in Springfield, MO!
