This county park offers RV sites with no hook-ups for $31 a night. (They do have a bathhouse!) For 2019, the campground is open from April 12 through October 26. The camp spots are nestled in the woods with wildlife all around. Each site has a picnic table and a fire ring.
There are lots of (paid and free) activities around the park, fun for the entire family. They have a train ride, playgrounds, miniature golf, fitness trails around the lake, fishing, and more. It looks like a great place to spend an extended holiday weekend!

We were on our way to visit our daughter in DC. This county park was amazingly empty - even though it was a Thursday night in October, we expected there would be some people getting a jump on the weekend. There were quite a few day use folks in the park, but by dusk everyone was gone and we had our spot on the lake all to ourselves where we were able to catch both a beautiful sunset and sunrise the next morning.

Wooded. Not many RV sites but golf course and kid-friendly park. Convenient for NoVA suburbs.

When we pulled into this campground the office was closed, the camp store was closed, and the bath house was closed. They only have 4 rv sites and they aren't close to being level. Our site was right in front of the closed bath house which was being renovated so all we heard were the workers talking loud, their loud music, and power tools. We couldn't have a fire because according to their rules you can't bring in firewood from outside the campground and the camp store was closed so we couldn't buy any there, plus they state not to burn dead wood laying on the ground. We booked five nights here but when we were welcomed with the workers' music and power tools this morning at 8 am we packed up and left. We contacted management for the campground but have yet to hear from anyone. This might be an ok park for tent campers but we don't recommend for RV'ers. We will not go back there. Also, be aware Verizon coverage here is VERY slow!
