“Camp near the Beach!”

Anastasia State Recreation Area is a 1,600-acre Florida State Park located on a peninsula on the Atlantic coast of Anastasia Island across Matanzas Bay from downtown St. Augustine. The park has a variety of wildlife, birds and plants in a setting of beaches, tidal salt marsh, and marine and upland hammock. At Anastasia you can enjoy camping, beachcombing, swimming, picnicking, fishing, windsurfing, hiking, wildlife viewing, boating and more. Anastasia's full-facility campground, including 139 campsites, is located in a wooded area within easy bicycling or walking distance of the beach. A self-guided nature trail takes hikers through a maritime hammock on ancient sand dunes, and anglers have the opportunity to haul in the big catch.

My boyfriend some friends and I went camping here last winter. It was beautiful and the sunset was perfect. Really fun geocaches here too.

Came on a cloudy Tuesday in early December. It could not have been any more perfect. Clean, quiet, majestic waves and birds chirping. A morning well spent. We walked eight miles in this heaven like place.

Amazing! If you’re in the area, you gotta come to this place! The park itself is amazing, but you also get access to a beautiful beach. Campground is okay, hard to get a spot.

This place is beautiful. Stayed there in the spring. The campsites have at least water. The bathing areas were kept clean and there was a outside little laundry area. Not to far from historic St. Augustine witch was also a fun place to visit. The only thing is the campsites are a little close together. Suggest get on the end of the roads they're a little further spaced. Otherwise great place. Hope to go back one day.
