“get-a-way beach adventure”
Built in 1916, the Riverview Hotel rests on the banks of the St. Marys River. Hotel nearest to the Cumberland Island Ferry and Visitor Center for Cumberland Island National Seashore. It has been owned and operated by the Brandon Family since the 1920's. Sallie Brandon purchased the Hotel with the help of her two sisters, Miss Semora and Miss Ethel, establishing a reputation as hospitable hostesses, transforming guests into friends. Southern style cooking drew many St. Marys families away from their own dining room tables, and visitors found a home away from home. The hotel is operated in the same warmth and tradition today as in yester year. Dinner is served Tuesday - Saturday, and lunch served Saturday in Seagle's Waterfront Cafe. Picnic Lunches are packed daily for visitors going to Cumberland Island, as well as for large groups. The Riverview Hotel and Seagle's Cafe & Saloon are the perfect combination for your island vacation "get-a-way" beach adventure. Visit us soon!
