“many different things going on”
The Menominee County Fair is the time and place that many of our youth, particularly those who raise animals, have their first opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned over the past year. The experience of getting up in front of a judge, answering questions (and trying not to shake too much) while trying to remember to stand up straight and look the judge in the eye, is a huge growth experience. They have to learn how to care and feed their animals properly, then learn proper showmanship techniques depending on the species of animal they show. Youth learn responsibility, dependability and public speaking skills - all tools they will need for the rest of their lives.
The Menominee County Fairgrounds is also a county park and campground with electric hook-ups. There is a potable water station and dump station located in the middle of the park. The lake has a boat launch for motorized watercraft and there is a designated swim area with a sandy beach.
