“landmark and destination”
Established in 1993, Big River Grill has become a landmark and destination for many who travel throughout the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area as well as for “locals” from Portland and Vancouver to Hood River and The Dalles. Our food has been categorized as “Modern Day Roadhouse ”. I like that description. It’s all about being serious with the food we serve while trying not to take ourselves too seriously. It is important that the music, lighting and general ambience provide our customers with an immediate sense of casual warmth and welcome. We buy locally whenever possible and are committed to using the highest quality ingredients available to us. I like big, bold flavors and generous portions and Chef knows if it is not something I would order and enjoy, we will not be serving it. We are confident the food speaks for itself. We are open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. We've been called an "Modern day Roadhouse" and I think that's a pretty accurate description. We take our food quite seriously while trying to not take ourselves that same way. From our bar and table service to the music on the stereo, we strive to provide a casual, active, fun environment where you can enjoy well prepared food at moderate prices. We source local ingredients whenever possible and are as well known for our burgers, sandwiches, appetizers and salads as we are for our wild sockeye salmon, grilled steaks and imaginative pasta dishes. Our wine list is focused on juice from the Columbia River appellation and we pour some of the best NW beers available. Check out our website for our current menus and additional pictures of the joint. There is a recipe on there you might like to try as well. Since 1993 we have been striving to provide a dining experience one would not normally expect to find in a small rural town such as ours. Please join us.

Moving up in the ranks. Had their Reuben. It's pretty legit. I get my dressing on the side. I'd recommend the same. It tastes weird. I guess it's traditional maybe. Anyway lots of good meat.... Read more
