Treat yourself to a famous UConn tradition by trying some of our locally made ice cream! Over 200,000 customers visit the Dairy Bar annually to enjoy more than 24 flavors of ice cream created right here at the Dairy Bar. The Creamery still manufactures ice cream according to its original and recipe from the early 1900s. Perhaps our most famous flavor is "Jonathan Supreme", named for the school's mascot, Jonathan the Husky Dog (vanilla ice cream swirled with peanut butter and chocolate covered peanuts).Made Before Your EyesDuring your visit to the UConn Dairy Bar you may even have the chance to observe ice cream being made! I did a walking tour of the college and found out that UConn started as an agricultural college. The students enrolled in the program today milk the cows every morning and they make the ice cream from those happy cows. I swear the ice cream is creamier because the how's are treated better. Try the Husky Tracks- vanilla ice cream, recess pieces and fudge swirl.
Love the Dairy Bar! Superb ice cream and they also have local Hosmer mountain soda. A must go to place if you're even remotely in the area. If you're lucky, you can even watch them make the ice cream!
