“see the diverse landscape & plant life of the region”
Consisting of 3103 acres, Maumee State Forest is the only State Forest in Western Ohio. All of the State Forest is situated within the Oak Openings Region of Northwest Ohio. The State Forest is not a single contiguous section of land. It is actually made up of several sections. These sections are in Lucas, Fulton, and Henry counties. The forest areas are designated in light green on the map below. Because of the diversity of the Oak Openings region each section is different. There is heavy hardwood forest, swamp forest, pine forest, and wet prairie. It is a good place to see the diverse landscape and plant life of the region.
