“Added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places”
Proclaimed by Delta SKY Magazine as one of the "Top Ten Iconic Show Places in the World", Tampa Theatre is one of America's best-preserved examples of grand movie palace architecture. A beloved community treasure since 1926, the Theatre was rescued from demolition in 1977 and today hosts 650 events annually. We are a not-for-profit organization, which means we can't survive without the support and generosity of the greater Tampa Bay community. Memberships, sponsorships and philanthropic gifts help support the Theatre's artistic and educational programs and keep the facility open and accessible year round. The Tampa Theatre and Office Building is a historic U.S. theater and city landmark in the Uptown District of downtown Tampa, Florida. On January 3, 1978, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The Theatre features a wide range of independent, foreign, and documentary films on a daily basis.
