The Independent

The Independent is proud to have been one of the pioneers of the craft beer movement in the Tampa Bay area.  And now, during the present craft beer renaissance, the Independent continues to be one-step-ahead, offering rare and unique beers and wines truly from around the world, as well as quality, award-winning European café fare.    The “Indie,” as it has become known, has 14 taps that are constantly rotated to ensure a fresh and ever-changing draft selection. There is also a hand-picked selection of more than one hundred fifty bottles to choose from — including beers from notable American craft breweries and amazing world class brews. The friendly, knowledgeable staff at the Independent strives to make craft beer accessible to everyone, and they will gladly help navigate through the eclectic tap and bottle lists.    The Independent is a frequent host of brewery launch parties and other craft beer and wine events, where one can often mingle with the actual brewery/winery owners in attendance from across the country or across the globe. Local brewers and top craft beer industry people can be found at the Indie daily, discussing the newest beer trends and imbibing their drink of choice.    The atmosphere at the Indie is comfortable and ambient. There are no TV screens to distract from conversation. People can enjoy the outdoor Biergarten year-round, or sit inside at our custom made cedar wood bar. The Independent also hosts free weekly live music shows featuring talented local and touring musicians.
