“Located in beautiful historic downtown”
Time passed, and in 1984 the building became the Town Tavern, owned by Frank O'Keefe. Meanwhile, far to the north, Andrew O'Keefe was attending the New England Culinary Institute. Julia Child was on hand for his graduation. As a 9-year-old boy helping out in the kitchen of the restaurant his father managed, O' Keefe knew that food was his life's work. He then cooked his way up and down the northeastern coast and in the hotels of Chicago with his dream intact. In 1987, he came to Tavares to work with his father to transform the pool hall into a real restaurant.
