“camping under the sequoias!”

Lodgepole campground is located 2 miles from the Giant Forest sequoia grove and 21 miles from Sequoia National Park entrance. The campground is located ¼ miles from Lodgepole village along the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River. Opening and closing dates are approximate. Lodgepole pine, Red fir, and shrubs forest the campground, while towering groves of giant sequoias and craggy granite peaks dot the landscape. The Marble Fork of the Kaweah River is fed by snowmelt and flows seasonally through the site. This region is characterized by warm days and cool nights in the summer and deep snow and cold days in the winter.

Lodgepole is one of 14 campgrounds in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, but it is one of the only four that are open year round and has both tent and RV sites. The Lodgepole Campground has 214 sites, is located 0.5-mile east of Lodgepole Visitor Center, at an elevation of 6,700 feet. Amenities include flush toilets, bear-proof storage boxes, pay phone, laundromat, camper store, deli and a gift center. Showers and sanitary disposal stations are available. Only the parking area is plowed in winter. The Marble Fork of the Kaweah River runs through the campground and several tent camping sites are located along the river. There are also several trails that originate in the campground including Twin Lakes Trail and Tokopah Falls Trail. Tokopah Falls Trail is 1.7 miles there (3.4 round trip) and makes for a brisk morning hike. Please enjoy the campsite photos of Lodgepole campground in Sequoia National Park.  We will continue to add more campsite photos of the campground if some are not available.Open all year.Location: At 6700-foot (2042m) elevation along the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River, 2 miles (3km) from the Giant Forest sequoia grove; 21 miles from Sequoia Park entrance.

Gorgeous scenery, a shuttle that leaves from the campground that takes you right to the park's best attractions, ranger-led talks and hikes, hot showers, a market and laundry facilities located conveniently nearby... seriously, a perfect place to camp.
