Pretty neat considering the engineering behind it. Not easy to find however. Exit 170 off I40 turn east and go 2.5 miles and you will see the sign with instructions.
It was such a fun little detour! Don't follow gps- follow Sats0503's comment below for directions, worked perfect! We ended up keeping windows up. So cute!
Delightful! My favorite part is "from sea to shining sea" I wanted the grooves to extend the entire width of the road.
Coming from the east on 40 we got off at 175 got onto the old 66 going west about 2.5 miles, but you can only hear it going east in 66 so we had to turn around and roll down our windows and put your tires on the side. Short, but sweet. Got back on 40 at the 175 exit.
Sats0503 has the best directions for finding. Would love to see the city put better signage and marking us. Still very cool!
The ridges are just to the left of the white line so just keep your right tire close to the white line, you can see the ridges if you look close and sats gave perfect directions
Quite difficult to find but once you do you have to drive exactly at 45 mph and close to the edge of the road where they have strategically created bumps in the road to sing a song to you. There is a sign going east bound on Route 66 that you'll see, it's blue and tells you to drive 45 to hear a song! Keep your windows up and listen really close, it's pretty neat.
drove around for 45 minutes. couldn't find it.
didn't see a single sign for it anywhere.
Kids loved it, not exactly where it said, but do your research before and it's easy to find. Windows up!
This was awesome. We did it three times to get it right but it was great
