“welcome & make yourself at home”
Ya Halla, Ya Halla, Ya Halla!!! In the Arabic speaking world these are the first words that you’ll hear when coming into a friend or family member’s home. It’s a greeting meaning “Welcome” and “make yourself at home”. With that, we want you, our friends and family, to welcome on in and make yourselves at home. Our restaurant is your restaurant. A few decades ago Karam Abdo came to the United States from Lebanon for the available opportunities. With that he settled in Toledo, OH and was hired in at General Motors Powertrain. After settling he married his lovely wife Maha and together have three children; Mo, Maher, and Malak. Karam always had a love for his homemade style Lebanese food. His mother would wake up early in the morning just to prepare the evenings dinner. From picking the plants from the garden to running around the village to wait for the butcher’s freshest meats she would collect what was needed to feed him and his seven siblings. He learned a lot from his mother and brought these cooking techniques with him from overseas.
