“One of Missouri's most Rugged Jewels!”
Cuivre River State Park is a bit of the Ozarks outside of the Ozarks – a nature lovers paradise just a short drive from St. Louis that is vibrant with colors three seasons of the year. The park’s renowned trails take visitors through prairies and forests of oaks and hickories. The park’s three natural areas feature sinkhole ponds and woodlands that would be more at home in southern Missouri. The park has hiking and equestrian trails, modern campsites, group camps, picnic areas and a lake so everyone can enjoy one of Missouri’s most rugged and beautiful jewels.
I really enjoyed this state park and the hiking and views were just amazing.
Great place to hike, view natural springs and lakes, camp, and picnic.
Hiking: Miles of trails with varied landscapes and skill levels.
Water: You can rent kayaks in the campground for the lake. Great for fishing or cruising. Natural springs feed streams throughout the forest.
Camping: Full service campground with restrooms. 4 primative campsites on hiking trails. Excellent for private camping and star gazing.
Picnicing: The picnic area next to the Lake is stunning in the fall and spring.
A quiet hike on the Cuivre River trail in the spring will reveal countless wildflowers.
One of the most beautiful campgrounds I have EVER been to! Worth the side trip!
This is a great park to hike in. The campground is very clean. And it has a nice swimming lake. If you like to fish and camp this is a park for you.
